Rooted in Nature

At Alexandria Native Garden Design, we believe that the best landscapes work in harmony with nature. Specializing in native plant landscaping in Virginia, we design and create outdoor spaces that are not only beautiful but also support local ecosystems.

Our mission is to restore natural balance—one garden at a time—by using native plants that thrive in our region, attract pollinators, and require less maintenance. We also have a deep passion for edible gardens, helping clients grow their own herbs, fruits, and vegetables in a way that complements the local environment. Whether you’re dreaming of a kitchen garden bursting with fresh ingredients, a wildlife-friendly landscape, or a solution for erosion and drainage challenges, we’re here to help.

With a deep respect for the land and a passion for sustainable design, we create gardens that are as functional as they are stunning—rooted in nature, built to nourish.

  • Owner & Lead Designer

Chelsea brings experience, creativity, and a deep love for native plants to every project. As a Virginia resident and Extension Master Gardener for Alexandria and Arlington, she is passionate about designing landscapes that enhance natural beauty while supporting local ecosystems.

Beyond her work in garden design, Chelsea is dedicated to education, often teaching local public school students how to grow their own food and understand the importance of native plants. When she’s not creating sustainable landscapes or inspiring the next generation of gardeners, she enjoys spending time outdoors with her husband and two children.
